A parrot can be a lifetime pet, as it can live from 10 – 90 years. The term “Velcro birds” is often used to describe their affectionate behaviour which endears them to humans. He will expect the amount of attention he has been used to and can express his confusion and displeasure by screaming, biting and other unpleasant behaviours. Give your bird a consistent amount of attention, an amount you can reasonably give on a daily basis. A daily shower is a necessity to to show him off to his best advantage.

A big cage is a necessity, 90 x 60 x 120 cm (36 x 24 x48 in) to 120 x 75 x 180 cm (48 x 30 x 72 in) depending on the species.
